How to play WOW in different realms by using a same client copy (later than 3.0.1)?

Details:
I’m a player in China mainland. And I have accounts in NA and China realms. So I would like to use a same client to connect to NA realm and China realm, instead of installing an enUS client and a Chinese client to do so.
If the client can connect to correct server and the client version number is as same as the server side, then the hand shaking will be successful. It’s easy to resolve this issue before WOW 2.4.3. Because:
i.There is a configuration file (realmlist.wtf) that contains the logon server address. Say, if you change the NA server address into a China realm server address, the client will connect to the China realm server.
ii.The patch version numbers are the same between NA client and Chinese client before WOW 2.4.3. For example, if NA client has a version named 2.4.3, Chinese client will has a version named 2.4.3 too. And the content between the two clients are the same.
So, all I need to do is modifying the realmlist.wtf file before WOW 2.4.3. But after the WOW 3.0.x was deployed in China realms, I don’t know how to do this. Because I cannot find the configuration file anymore, the client seems to connect to the US logon server all the time (I’m trying to use enUS client 3.0.1). And, more important issue is, the version numbers between NA client and Chinese client are NOT the same. (NA client 3.0.1 is equivalent to Chinese client 3.0.5.)

Is there any way to resolve my problem? Any information or tips are appreciated.

I found the realmlist.wtf in new location, and I think can change the logon server address now. So the only question is how to modify the client version number.
PLS give me some tips! Thanks in advance.

    New location of the realmlist.wtf:
    $WOW_HOME/Data/${locale}/realmlist.wtf

    How To:
    1 reset your realmlist.wtf if you modified it;
    2 upgrade your client to version 3.0.3;
    3 modify the realmlist.wtf;
    4 get a copy of Wow.exe 3.0.5(copy from a nearby net cafe or your friends in China);
    5 backup your Wow.exe 3.0.3 before replace it with Wow.exe 3.0.5;
    6 have fun!
