20 million dollars on a campaign?

Filed in Category WoW Campaigns

Wow. Who needs to campaign anymore? Just take all that money and give it to people and I bet they would vote for you. Its sad when the winner is usually the one who has more money. Thats what they should do….auction off the role of president. It could become a game show on tv called who wants to buy the White House.

We already did that in 2000, George W. bought Florida and beat Al Gore…

    That’s just Hilary’s debt

    Yea thats ridiculous isn’t it?
But…. he won’t get the Repub votes and Hillary’s people are mainly going with McCain to keep that scarey guy away from our flag and country, thank God. This time we need to unite Dems/Repubs for the sake of the nation and send that guy packing!

I think this election cycle, upwards of $1 BILLION will be spent. How’s that for buying votes?

I agree, there needs to be caps and I’m insulted that one of the people claiming to want to prevent that kind of campaigning is the same guy doing it.

People don’t get it though. When you see that kind of spending, it’s not about the candidate. It’s about where all that money came from and who they owe favors to for getting it — it always is and always will be.

I don’t want a sock puppet for President.

Yes.. they should just auction the presidency off.. for that is exactly what it is.. a sale to the highest bidder… doesn’t matter if you know what you are doing.. like the fool George W…. or if you have any experience.. like Obama.. the jester. It is all just a big game that rich people play…. they get bored sitting around counting their money I guess.

And silly us.. we buy in to it.. we go to rallies.. we send our hard earned cash… we wear hats and beads and carry signs and think that what we want makes a difference. It is all very humorous if it weren’t so sad.

But we call it freedom.. freedom to make ourselves look silly when really it has all been decided for us behind the closed doors of the rich and powerful… I don’t know why the government doesn’t just save the millions spent and do something good with it.. and put in whatever lawyer they want for president.. they truly do not want our input.

That’s obscene, considering the poverty around us

20 million isn’t enough.I’d want at least $100 and buying off the voting poulation at that rate woulc cost more than 20 million.

However a vote for a candidate lottery might work. You enter the booth for a dollar and choose the candidates for various offices then win a monetary prize.Of those who choose all correctly a drawing is done to pick the winner of the big prize,

    Damn I’m good.

Not so much, wouldn’t Perot have been President?

It is a shame that money is such a prerequesite, but that’s just being realistic. Money buys exposure and that’s what politicians need. Although it should be considered that all the commercial time in the world won’t make bad ideas good.

Also, there is so much dollars and cents in the office that an ability to manage campaign money, raise it, and use it effectively all show qualities that are important to the office.

$20 million is just the amount of Hillary’s debt. She’s spent much more than that (and so have the other candidates).

    OK
Just remember to add all the candidates donations..
I bet it is over $100.000.000..
there are limitations to the corporate world and they gave millions…. BUT average Joe and Sheilas pledged multi $1,000..$2500 max
Then Question the sanity of 47million people with out health care…
    Nonsense,,
